A closer look at the choices that make moving images move.

Write for us

Dynamic Film Review welcomes considered pitches about how screen stories are made and experienced. We are interested in focused, original ideas that help a general reader notice a specific choice in image, editing, sound, performance or design.

What we welcome

A strong proposal has one clear question and a distinct point of view. It might explain a screen technique, compare two approaches, trace a change in a craft convention, or offer a fresh way to watch a kind of scene. Keep the proposed scope manageable and show how the subject can be discussed through specific, observable examples.

What to include

In your message, give a working title, a short account of the central idea, the category it fits and why the piece would be useful to a curious viewer. Mention the examples you expect to discuss and any sources needed for factual background. Disclose relevant commercial interests. We do not need a complete draft with an initial proposal.

How to propose a piece

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please pitch an idea rather than sending a finished article without a prior conversation. A proposal is not an acceptance, and we cannot promise publication or a response by a particular date.

Our point of view

Attention changes what a scene can show.

A film is built from choices, not just plot. Looking closely at one frame, cut or sound can open up the whole scene.
